Disciple of Ustad Baba Alauddin Khan Sahib, Rabin Ghosh’s vast and extensive experience in ‘Seni Maihar Gharana’ and introduction of ‘Fifth String' on Violin for the first time in Indian classical music (http://www.ninad.biz/indiathinks.htm), have helped Ranjan Ghosh to blend the best of ‘Seni Mihar Gharana’ in his music, in contrast to sticking to unique style of violin playing featuring ‘Ati Vilambit Style’, (very slow movement applicable to ‘Alap’ and ‘Vilambit’ Gat, a very prime feature to the Indian classical music).
